Did you know, that most movies out there in the world are based on a book? I always try to read a book before I watch the movie based on that book. If you don’t read the book first then some things in the movie don’t make any sense. So, you should also try to read the book first. Why? Well first, books have more details than movies. Also, good books make it feel like you’re in the setting of the book. Lastly, books always last longer than the movies. Therefore, books are better than movies.First off, books have way more detail than their movies. They have more detail because they are much longer than movies. Also, when they have more detail they always, no doubt, make more sense than the movies. Lastly, movies leave out about half of the most important details. The fact that books have more details than movies make them much more enjoyable.
Second, well written books make it feel like you’re in the setting. That makes the book very engaging. Most of the time, really engaging books are really fun, and you want to keep reading them. A book I've read like that is Number the Stars, by Lois Lowry. She wrote the book so well, that I felt like everything was happening to me myself. While the characters in the book were scared, I also felt scared, like everything is actually happening. As many of you have probably experienced, it's really fun to feel as though you are in the book yourself.
Lastly, books last much longer than movies do. When a book is long it gives you something to do. When I'm stuck inside on a rainy day, which happens a lot here in Sitka, I read, and don't do anything else but read. Some books that have been written have been so popular that the author wrote sequels to them! Those are some reasons why it's good to have a long book.
In conclusion, books are so much better than movies. First, books have way more detail than movies, which cut so much out. Second, good books make it feel like you’re in the book yourself; you’re in the setting. And lastly, books always last longer. So, the next time you’re deciding between a movie and a book, pick the book!
